The Castroville Community Services District's water system is regulated by the State of California Department of Public Health.

 

The Castroville Community Services District was formed in 2008. The District was created by the Monterey County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) with the  merger of both the Castroville Water District, which was established in 1952 and Monterey County Service Area No.14, the successor to the Castroville Sanitation District. The Castroville Community Services District is a public agency governed by a five (5) member elected Board of Directors.


The District provides specified services to locally defined areas. The Castroville Community Services District is a Special District, an agency of the state for the local performance of governmental or proprietary functions within limited boundaries. The Castroville Community Service District is a Multi-function district. A multi-functional CSD can only provide the services it is authorized to provide by law or LAFCO.


Services provided include water, sewer, storm water, street lighting, recreational services, graffiti abatement, street maintenance and open space. All services listed except for street maintenance and open space are provided to the township of  Castroville. All services listed except for water service are provided to the Moro Cojo subdivision.


The Castroville Community Services District, under contract, operates and maintains the sewer system for the Moss Landing County Sanitation District. As both owner/operator and operation/maintenance contractor of the various systems, we strive to provide quality services to the community at the highest standard and in the most cost effective manner.


The District provides these services from Moss Landing in the north, to Moro Cojo to the east and includes all of the Castroville community,

The Castroville Community Services District (CCSD) system was formed and has been in operation since 2008.  The District was created by the Monterey County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) with the consolidation of the Castroville Water District(est.1952), and Monterey County Service Area No. 14 which was the successor to the Castroville Sanitation District.  The Castroville Community Services District is a public agency governed by a five (5) member Board of Directors.

The District provides Water services, Fire flows, Recreational funding, Streetlights, Open space maintenance, Roads and signage in the Moro Cojo subdivision and Sanitary sewer services to thousands of residents of Castroville, Moro Cojo and Moss Landing.  The District provides these services from Moss Landing in the north, to Moro Cojo to the east and includes all of the Castroville community, The CCSD water system is regulated by California State Health Department Regulations and Monterey County Environmental Health
